9. Get up and go
When you experience anxiety, it is natural to withdraw from activities and social events. Allowing your life to stop because of anxiety is one of the worst things you can do, as it will only make matters worse.
Try volunteering your time or taking up a new hobby. Make plans with friends ahead of time. Set a schedule for each day that will keep you busy. By filling your days with new experiences and new people, you allow your brain to turn its focus elsewhere. You may even find a new talent or sense of purpose as you begin to push yourself outside of your mind.
Everyone experiences anxiety differently, so don’t become frustrated if one form of relief doesn’t work for you. Give yourself the time to find the right combination of treatments for you.
