4. Write it down
Depending on the cause of your anxiety, you may find great relief in writing it down. Sometimes we don’t want to express our anxieties to others. Writing them down allows us to get them out without worrying what others will think. Try keeping a journal of anxieties. Once you see them written out, you may decide that they are really nothing to be worried about. Another exercise you can do is write down your anxieties on a small piece of paper and then put them in a box. This physical act of getting rid of them, trapping them elsewhere, or throwing them away, may be the perfect step in letting go. Writing things down does not take the place of speaking with someone, however. If you feel that speaking with a friend or professional would be more beneficial, it is best to do so.
